Texas Ruling Having Ripple Effect Across Biotech

The US equities markets were mostly neutral today, with the major indexes and sectors generally trading slightly higher. However, both healthcare and its biotech subsector were down at least 1% today, partly as a result of expectations of significantly more legislative pushes against the Affordable Care Act in the wake of a Texas judge ruling the ACA to be unconstitutional. However, it seems unlikely that any changes can be made quickly since the given the strong lobbying and political interests in the legislation. Meanwhile, strong price moves were observed today in NKTR and DOVA. Here’s a recap.
